WATERTOWN, NY —Â The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting which occurred on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at about 2:00 a.m.
The shooting took place outside a residence on County Route 46 in the town of Theresa near the intersection of County Route 136.
The victim left the scene and he was stopped by patrol on the way to Samaritan Medical Center. He was transported to SMC by ambulance and is expected to recover from his injuries.
While we are still investigating this shooting, we believe this was an isolated incident stemming from an altercation which took place at a party being held in the vicinity.
At this time there is no threat to the general public.
