BLACK RIVER, NY — Victoria S. West, 74, of Stafford Drive, Black River, died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at her home while under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County, Watertown.
Born on Sept. 10, 1943, in Gouverneur, NY, she was the only child of Victor and Ferne Render Sportelli and she was a 1964 graduate of Indian River Central School.
Victoria married Eugene G. West of Evans Mills, NY on Oct. 21, 1972. A previous marriage to Ron Bechard ended in divorce.
She was a homemaker all of her married life and a member of the Indian River Baptist Church and TOPS #698, both in Philadelphia, NY and she bowled in the Senior League at the Watertown Bowling Center.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Eugene; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kelly Bechard, Watertown, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Paul Priest, Black River, NY; seven grandchildren, Vicki Lou Richardson, Erica Bechard, Amber Bechard, Angela Bechard, all of Watertown, NY, Christine Priest, Andrew Priest, Black River, NY and Rachel Priest, Black River, NY; one great-granddaughter.
Her parents and a daughter, Linda Miller in December 2012, died before her.
There will be a memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Indian River Baptist Church, Philadelphia, NY with Pastor Joe Moran, officiating.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY.
