Walczyk picks up CSEA endorsement

WATERTOWN, NY —  State Assemblyman Mark Walczyk announced Tuesday that he has received the endorsement of one of New York’s largest unions, CSEA.

CSEA is made up of 300,000 members, both active and retired, across the state, representing nursing assistants, childcare workers, librarians, emergency personnel, social workers, highway maintenance crews, higher education employees, among many others.

“I’m incredibly grateful to be endorsed by CSEA; the union that represents hard working men and women. These essential workers take care of the sick in hospitals, nursing homes, group homes, and mental health care facilities.  They provide transportation, sanitation and public works in our communities and support the education mission of our colleges and public schools,” said Assemblyman Mark Walczyk.  “CSEA is one of NY’s largest workers unions and many of these people stepped up to serve our community during the COVID-19 crisis.  I’ll continue to go to bat for them in Albany.”

“CSEA is proud to endorse Mark Walczyk’s candidacy for New York Assembly,” said CSEA President Mary E. Sullivan. “We are confident that he will stand with working people to make New York a better state. Working together we will get through this crisis.”

“Assemblyman Mark Walcyzk has been a longtime advocate for the working men and women of the North Country. During his time on the Watertown City Council he was a strong supporter of our CSEA members working for the city. He has continued his advocacy as an Assemblyman, and we are proud to endorse his candidacy for the 116th Assembly District,” said CSEA Region 5 President Kenny Greenelaf.

This endorsement by CSEA is the latest for Walczyk, as he seeks his second term as Assemblyman.  Thus far, Assemblyman Mark Walczyk has been endorsed by the state’s largest teacher’s union, NYSUT, the NYSTPBA and the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82, Local 2390.
