Washington Summit expanding; acquisition of C.A.N.I. Medical Center finalized

WATERTOWN, NY – Michael E. Lundy, Managing Member of Washington Summit Associates, has announced that the acquisition of the CANI Medical Center located at 19472 US Rt. 11, Watertown, has been finalized.  The building and the property will now be known as The Commons at Washington Summit.

This redevelopment will include extensive renovations to the 39,000 square foot C.A.N.I building, as well as the 8-acre property.  Site clearing and cleanup surrounding the building has already begun. Since the C.A.N.I. property is directly adjacent to Washington Summit Medical and Professional Complex, Mr. Lundy plans to develop a road that will connect the newly developed property directly to Washington Summit, making it part of the thriving medical and professional environment that has been created there.  There are available building lots left the Washington Summit main campus, but 100% of the existing buildings are occupied.  Washington Summit is home to 16 different practices, as well as Samaritan’s Summit Village, and employs over 600 people working on the campus.

According to Mr. Lundy, “This is a great opportunity for Washington Summit to expand. The C.A.N.I. building and property was too good of an opportunity to pass up and is one of the reasons I put the Clinton Street renovation project on hold”.  He stated that several of the prospective tenants who originally discussed moving into Clinton Street will now be relocating to The Commons at Washington Summit.

Additional announcements and future plans for The Commons at Washington Summit will be forthcoming.
