Watertown City Council seeking to fill vacancy following Roshia resignation

WATERTOWN, NY —  At the City Council meeting on January 4, 2021, Council Member Jesse Roshia announced he would be stepping down from his position on January 31, 2021.

Mayor Smith stated, “It has been an honor and a privilege to work alongside Council Member Roshia and serve the hardworking people of Watertown. Council Member Roshia brought a unique perspective to the Council that was both insightful and thoughtful. The community will certainly miss him, and I wish him and his family the best of luck moving forward.”

Individuals interested in filling the vacancy are encouraged to submit a letter of interest, as well as their resume to the Mayor’s office:

Resumes and letters of interest should be submitted no later than January 31, 2021. Please note the successful applicant will be expected to serve until December 31, 2021. Individuals applying must be City residents, eligible to vote and of good moral turpitude. In addition, individuals applying must also be able to fulfil any requirements that may be specified by Article 13 of the New York State Constitution and the New York State Public Officers Law.
