WATERTOWN, NY — On Thanksgiving Day, November 25th, 2021, the Watertown Family YMCA will host the 38th annual Turkey Day Run. The race will begin at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20020 Ives Street Road, Watertown, NY at 9:00 AM.
The focus of this annual event is to bring community members together and promote health & fitness. This event has become part of the annual Thanksgiving celebration for many North Country families.
Participation options include 5K run or a 2.2-mile walk/run option. Registration and timing is being hosted by Race Roster.
Online registration for the event will close out Sunday, November 21, 2021at 9:00 PM. Packet pickups for participants will be Tuesday, November 23,12:00 PM – 6:00 PM and Wednesday, November 24, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Fairgrounds Y location.
Last call registration and packet pickup will be available at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the morning of the race, 7:00-8:30 AM. The race begins at the church parking lot at 9:00 AM. Race results will be announced inside the church at 10:00 AM.
The first 500 participants to registered will be guaranteed a shirt designed and printed by Victory Promotions, one of the event sponsors. Other Turkey Day Run sponsors include Community Broadcasters, L.L.C., Bob Johnson Auto Group, Samaritan Medical Center, RBC Wealth Management, Northern Nurse Practitioners, and Watertown Savings Bank.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, last year’s run was combined with the annual Shamrock Run and promoted as a virtual event. The return of this event is a harbinger of the return to normal community life.
