Watertown man accused of assault at tavern on Public Square

WATERTOWN, NY —   Henry G. Plitt III, 25, of 108 N. Rutland St., upper apt., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 12:51 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in the 400 block of Academy Street with third-degree assault.

Mr. Plitt is accused of punching Jonathan Vinnenburg in his face causing lacerations to both sides of his head that required medical treatment at about 12:33 a.m. at Whistler’s Tavern, 109 Public Square, according to court documents.

He was released to military custody and summoned to appear Oct. 9 in City Court.
