Watertown man accused of attempting to steal grill from porch

WATERTOWN, NY —  Steven W. LaClair, 52, of 226 Francis St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 12:06 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in the 500 block of Washington Street with petit larceny.

Mr. LaClair is accused of “attempting to take a Char-Broil brand grill valued at $359 and belonging to Gregory Owens, 55, from the front porch of 144 Winslow St. knowing that he did not have permission,” at about 11:43 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, according to court documents.

He is summoned to appear Jan. 29 in City Court.
