Watertown man accused of choking woman during domestic incident

WATERTOWN, NY —   Thomas E. Rose II, 30, of 1620 Huntington St., Apt. U6, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 10:28 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 1620 Huntington St. with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

Mr. Rose is accused of throwing Angel-Jo L. Maitland, 26, down on a bed, straddled her and applied pressure to her throat with both hands in the presence of a 12-year-old girl during a domestic incident at about 10:05 p.m. Tuesday at 1620 Huntington St., according to court documents. He is additionally accused of taking a phone Ms. Maitland’s hand as she was attempting to call 911 for assistance, police said.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Wednesday morning in City Court.
