Watertown man accused of falsely reporting stabbing incident

WATERTOWN, NYMichael E. Griffin, 35, of 636 Bronson St., Apt. 4, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 12:03 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at his residence with third-degree falsely reporting an emergency, a misdemeanor.

“The defendant did commit the offense of falsely reporting an incident in the third degree when he reported that he had been the victim of a stabbing during a domestic incident, knowing the information reported to be false or baseless, in that a stabbing did not in fact occur,” at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 636 Bronson St., according to court documents.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Thursday morning in City Court.
