Watertown man accused of stealing wallet, using credit card to purchase gas

WATERTOWN, NY — Cedric D. Sapp, 24, of 22489 Echo Dr., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 11:12 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at his residence with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Mr. Sapp is accused of stealing a wallet belonging to Douglas C. Reid, 59, Watertown, at about 8:00 a.m. Oct. 25 at Sunoco, 1222 Washington St., police said.

The wallet contained $110 in cash and a credit card which Sapp allegedly used to purchase $30.01 worth of gasoline at Byrne Dairy, 1003 Coffeen St., according to court documents.

He was held for arraignment Thursday afternoon in City Court.
