Watertown man accused of swinging golf club at pair, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  Samuel Rosa, 68, of 113 W. Main St., Apt. 801, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the 900 block of State Street with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and two counts of second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

Mr. Rosa is accused of holding a golf club above his head and swinging the club while charging at a man and woman at about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday at 900 State St., according to court documents.

Police said Mr. Rosa was previously convicted of trafficking cocaine in Massachusetts.

Mr. Rosa was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Wednesday morning in City Court.
