Watertown man accused of threatening another with wooden stake, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  Robert A. Zimmer, 18, of 1005 Harrison St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 8:27 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in the 100 block of Paddock Street with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Mr. Zimmer is accused of picking up a wooden stake, raising it in an aggressive manner while following Marco Backus, 19, and making verbal threats of bodily harm towards Backus at about 7:40 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Washington Street, police said.

He is summoned to appear March 14 in City Court.
