Watertown man allegedly provide false name to police at bar

WATERTOWN, NY — Gene D. Rivers III, 32, of 177 Mechanic St., upper apt., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 2:03 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Mick’s Place tavern, 204 Factory St., with second-degree criminal impersonation.

Police said he provided the false name of Sean Johnson in an attempt to avoid being arrested on active bench warrants out of City Court.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Saturday morning.
