Watertown man charged with unauthorized use of debit card

WATERTOWN, NY —  Marco A. Backus, 19, of 221 Clinton St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 11:01 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 221 Clinton St. with fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny.

Mr. Backus is accused of stealing a debit card belonging to Thomas T. O’Connell, 23, Dexter, at about 7:00 a.m. Aug. 21 at 221 Clinton St. and stole $358.88 in funds from his account without permission, according to court documents.

He is summoned to appear Oct. 7 in City Court.
