Watertown man facing drug, weapon charges after drug task force raid of apartment

WATERTOWN, NY — Members of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at about 10:13 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at 1620 Huntington St., Apt. P-6, in Watertown.

This is the residence of Bishme S. Smith Sr. and Chandra A. Smith and has been the focus of an on-going drug investigation, police said.

When entry was made into the apartment it was found to be occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Smith and three small children. The scene and occupants were secured without incident.

At the conclusion of the search warrant a Smith & Wesson .32 caliber revolver, approximately 8.3 grams of crack cocaine, a digital scale, supplies used to package drugs for sale, and a small amount of US currency were seized, police said.

Bishme S. Smith Sr., 37, was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree (class C felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree (class B felony).

Mr. Smith was arraigned in the City of Watertown Court by the Honorable Judge Neddo and was held without bail based on his criminal history, police said.

The Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force was assisted by the Watertown Police Road Patrol, SRT and ID units.

This is an on-going investigation.

Additional arrests and charges are pending.
