Watertown man hit woman in head with TV, struck 14-year-old boy, police say

WATERTOWN, NYJonathan A. Bort, 31, of 610 Franklin St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 10:22 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in the 1400 block of Washington Street with endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of second-degree harassment.

Mr. Bort is accused of breaking a 32-inch flat screen television valued at $198 belonging to Brittany L. Bort, 33, when he struck her in the head with the television causing the screen to break at about 10:02 p.m. Monday at 610 Franklin St., according to court documents. He also allegedly struck her in the face, pushed her and took a phone away from her as she was speaking to the 911 dispatch center, police said.

He is also accused of striking a 14-year-old boy in his face during the incident, police said.

Mr. Bort was being held pending arraignment Tuesday morning in City Court.
