WPD: Man violated order of protection by delivering note to victim

WATERTOWN, NYCharles E. LaValley, 68, of 113 W. Main St., Apt. 308, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:42 p.m. Monday, June 4, at his residence with second-degree criminal contempt.

He is accused of violating the terms of a Family Court order of protection when he went to the residence of the protected party, Claude A.E. Smith, 64, of 142 Mechanic St., and delivered a note to him at about 3:30 p.m. May 27, according to court documents.

Mr. LaValley awaits prosecution in City Court.
