Watertown woman accused of hitting man with broom stick, damaging cell phone

WATERTOWN, NY — Amarilis E. Lazar, 24, of 385 Pawling St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:29 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at her residence with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and second-degree harassment.

Ms. Lazar is accused of damaging a phone valued at $1,099 and belonging to Phillip B. Bowman, 26, when she hit his back pocket with a broom stick at about 12:26 p.m. Sunday at their residence, police said. She is also accused of cutting his clothing valued at $135 with a knife, police said.

She was being held pending arraignment Monday morning in City Court.
