Wedding: Richard A. Duvall and Elizabeth M. May

REDWOOD, NY —  Richard Allen Duvall and Elizabeth Marie May were united in marriage on Feb. 16, 2019.

The couple exchanged their own vows in front of their friends and family on a sunny winter day alongside the St. Lawrence River. The bride’s uncle and aunt, Pastor Jeffrey Combs and Pastor Joyce Combs, officiated the ceremony. The Maid of Honor was the bride’s sister, Rachel Rose May Zysk. The Best Man was the groom’s son, Richard Ernest Duvall. They shared in their celebration with the Darlings of the Bride and Groom: Olivia Duvall, Chloe May Duvall, Pela Zysk, Sophia Duvall and Clara Zysk as well as beloved friends and family.

Richard is the son of Ernest and Rita Duvall of Watertown, NY.  Richard is the Chief Executive Officer of Carthage Area Hospital.  He attended South Jefferson High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Columbia College and a Master of Healthcare Management Degree from American Intercontinental University.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Rex May of Clayton, NY and the daughter and stepdaughter of Patricia and Craig Esford of Cape Vincent, NY. Elizabeth is a First Grade Teacher at LaFargeville Central School.  She attended General Brown High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Childhood Education with a Mathematics Specialization and a Master of Science in Education Degree as a Literacy Specialist from SUNY Potsdam.

On February 9, 2018 in the midst of a snowstorm, they were introduced by a mutual dear friend, Holly Dunlap, at The Thousand Islands Harbor Hotel.  On September 26, 2018 Rich proposed to Elizabeth in Colorado Springs at The Vault. Amongst the fairy lights, pictures of their family, roses and champagne, Elizabeth said “YES”!

Following the ceremony at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, the bride and groom traveled to St. Lucia for their honeymoon.

Richard and Elizabeth Duvall reside in Redwood, NY, on Butterfield Lake with their children, Richard, Olivia, Chloe, and Sophia along with their dogs, Rocky and George Maximus.

The newlyweds enjoy spending time with their children, traveling, life on the lake; and look forward to the many adventures that lie ahead.
