Time:1649 Incident: Structure Fire
Location: 520 Waite Ave.

Situation found: Fire on exterior of building(vinyl siding and wall sheathing),
slight extension into interior wall and floor space.
Action Taken: Fire extinguished
Cause: Carelessly discarded cigarette
Remarks: Companies arrived to find fire on exterior of 2 ½ story wood frame
dwelling. All occupants had evacuated and were attempting to put out the fire.
Fire was extinguished by WFD personnel and crews found slight extension into
interior wall and flooring on 1 st floor which was also extinguished. Crews
operated for approximately 90 minutes on scene. Building was condemned for
occupancy by the City of Watertown Codes Dept until repairs can be made.
There were no working smoke detectors in the home.
No injuries were reported.
