Woman accused of attempting to bite female police officer

WATERTOWN, NY –   Alexis C. Hughes, 20, of 25415 State Route 3, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 10:06 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the 300 block of VanDuzee Street with disorderly conduct, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.

Ms. Hughes is accused of walking in front of two moving vehicles in the 300 block of VanDuzee Street causing both cares to stop to avoid hitting her and remained in the street until she was escorted by a police officer at about 10:01 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

She is additionally accused of attempting to bite Patrolwoman Virginia R. Kelly on her left arm while attempting to pull her arms away from the officer after being told she was under arrest, according to court documents.

Ms. Hughes is summoned to appear Nov. 18 in City Court.
