Woman accused of stealing from Watertown law firm, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  The Watertown Police Department released the following statement on Wednesday, July 21, 2021:

“In March of this year, Schwerzmann & Wise, P.C. representatives filed a complaint with our department after finding financial irregularities in their records and a larceny of over $27,000.

The investigation showed the person responsible was a former secretary, Nicole Bennett.

On 07/20/2021, 26-year-old Nicole A. Bennett of 25176 Maiden Lane Great Bend, NY, came to our station where she was arrested and charged with one count of Grand Larceny Third Degree, a class D felony; Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument Second Degree, a class D felony; and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, a class E felony. She was

processed at the station and brought to Watertown City Court, where she was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.”
