WPD: 5 accused of forcibly robbing man on Arsenal Street

WATERTOWN, NY —  The Watertown Police Department released the following statement on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021:

“At 11:44 pm on 10/19/2021, members of our uniformed Patrol Division and our Criminal Investigation Division investigated a robbery that occurred on the sidewalk near 1050 Arsenal Street in the City of Watertown.

It was alleged that Jonathan Perry was accosted by four males who knocked him to the ground and stole property from him while one of the males displayed a knife. The males left the scene in a vehicle driven by a fifth male.

The suspects were stopped by police in their vehicle in the 500 block of State St at 11:56 pm. The males were transported to the Watertown Police Department for interviews and further investigation into the incident. The five males were charged at 12:30 am on 10/20/2021.

The five males who were charged reside at 1220 Coffeen Street in Watertown, NY.
Jason Bourcier, an 18-year-old male, Ibrahima Camara, a 19-year-old male, Justin Salazar, an 18-year-old male, Raheem Smith, an 18-year-old male, and a 17-year-old juvenile male were each charged with Robbery in the first Degree, a class B felony. Raheem Smith was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor.

The suspects were all held pending arraignment.

We were assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, and Guilfoyle Emergency Medical Service.
