WPD: Dexter man charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated

WATERTOWN, NY —  Roy A. McAdam, 63, of 19559 Evans Road, Dexter, was charged by Watertown police at 11:57 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, in the 300 block of Arsenal Street with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated and a headlight violation.

His blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent, police said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI, which carries harsher penalties upon conviction, is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or greater.

The charge is a felony due to a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years, police said.

He is summoned to appear March 5 in City Court.
