WPD: Man’s BAC was 0.23 percent

WATERTOWN, NY —  Ferkai Freeman, 27, of 15674 Eimicke Place, Apt, 110, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 6:49 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at his residence with aggravated driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, imprudent speed and unsafe lane change in connection with an incident on Sept. 12 in the city.

His blood alcohol content was 0.23 percent, police said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI, which carries harsher penalties upon conviction, is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or greater.

He is summoned to appear Nov. 10 in City Court.
