WPD patrol vehicle collision

WATERTOWN, NY — City police are investigating a collision involving one of their sport utility patrol vehicles Friday morning.

City firefighters and Guilfyole Ambulance responded at 5:38 a.m. to Waterman Drive and the entrance to the employee parking lot at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building after a report of a person suffering an abrasion.

An airbag in the patrol vehicle appeared to have deployed during the crash involving a pickup truck.

The patrol vehicle was pushed from the scene by police officers and firefighters to a parking spot.

Police have not released any further details at this time.
