WPD: Watertown man pointed imitation handgun at another

WATERTOWN, NY —  The Watertown Police Department released the following information on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021:

“On Feb. 23, 2021, at 3:09 p.m., members of our Uniform Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigation Division investigated a weapon offense that occurred in the 500 block of Waite Avenue. It is alleged that a male, identified as Cervontes Hardy, pointed a black handgun at another male and threatened to kill him which caused the male to fear for his life. Cervontes was located at 806 Burchard Street in Watertown where the gun was located and determined to be an imitation handgun. Cervontes was also found in possession of 11.3 ounces of marijuana at that location.

As a result of the investigation, Cervontes Cortez Hardy, a 22-year-old male residing at 1620 Huntington St., Apt. F2, was arrested for charges of second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony, and third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class E felony. He was arraigned and released on bail.”
